Raita or Raitha is an Indian side dish made with curd or yogurt and spices like Caraway or Persian cumin or Carum carvi (called jeera in India), Coriander or Cilantro or Coriandrum sativum, pepper and mint. It usually contains cucumber or bottle gourd or calabash. It is somewhat similar to the Greek Tzatziki or tzadziki or tsatsiki.

Here is a demonstration and a recipe.

However, another way is to put the spices in the yogurt and let it settle for some time. Following that the cucumber and other vegetables can be put in that.

It may be prepared and kept refrigerated for a day. It can be served chilled.
