why microbiology is distinct from infectious disease
Microbiology is very different than infectious disease. I have created 2 subgroups and I know someone out there is going to think it is redundant. Infectious Disease is going to approach more clinical aspects, and microbiology is going to approach more biological aspects. I know many Infectious Disease doctors who do not enjoy the fine details of microbiology that is not clinically relevant. Therefore, I think there should be a branch in the 2 groups. Also, infectious disease can also focus more on the disease and microbio more on the organism. There will be overlap and that is fine. Hope you all agree. Tom Kelly 07:22, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
