The Victorian Bushfires of 2009 were a series of devastating bushfires occurring in the Australian state of Victoria in February 2009. They exceeded the previous 'worst-ever' Australian bushfires, the Black Friday bushfires of 1939 and the Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983 in terms of acreage burnt and number of lives lost, respectively. As of the 9th of February, 2009, over 108 persons are believed dead, and over 750 properties have been destroyed.

Significant blazes comprising the bushfire include the Kinglake Fire, the Bendigo Fire, and the Gippsland Fires. Some fires have been brought under control, including the Horsham Fire. Lightening has sparked new fires in the Grampians.
