excessive use of CTPA with +d-dimer patients - there are many false positives - any inflammatory condition, infectious, malignancy, etc study showed that a +d-dimer, greatly influenced a clinicians decision to order CTPA even when clinical suspicion is low. $ and raditiation issues... -TK Tom Kelly 20:01, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
