North Korea (in Korean: Bukjoseon[1]), oficially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or DPRK (in Korean: Joseon Minjujueui Inmin Gonghwaguk[2]), is a state in the northern side of Korea, between China and South Korea. Its capital and largest city is Pyeongyang. Korea was split into two states following World War II, and the North has been ruled by a communist, Soviet inspired dictatorship under Kim-Il Sung and his son Kim Il-Jong ever since.
