Source for claim about "most Muslims'" opinion?

The article claims that "most Muslims" consider the caliphate the ideal form of government. Perhaps it's true, but it seems questionable enough to me that there should probably be a supporting reference, or the statement should be removed. Bruce M.Tindall 16:15, 21 August 2008 (CDT)

I agree. I'll try to track this statement down (I did not write the original statement), but let's remove it for the time being. Brian P. Long 09:35, 22 August 2008 (CDT)
