- Purpose
To enable editing only the intro section of an article, which is useful to people who have slower internet connections, and may help prod such editing. See this forums post for more.

- Place
{{editintro}}atop any page but below the{{subpages}}template. - Place
{{subst:editintro-talknote}}atop but below the{{subpages}}template and{{WPimport}}template (if it exists) on the article's talk page.
- Usage notes
This template must be manually removed prior article approval, since __NOEDITSECTION__ included in the approval fails to kill this template. That is the reason for step two, which notes this on the article's talk page.
