Talk:Regional dialect levelling

From Citizendium
Revision as of 03:02, 10 August 2007 by imported>Dave Sayers (Talk:Dialect levelling moved to Talk:Regional dialect levelling: This page was originally created as 'regional dialect levelling', then moved to 'dialect levelling' because the former term was thought to be ambiguous. However, 'regional dialect levelling' is the standard term used in the literature. Also, 'dialect levelling' is already in the literature to describe a different but related sociolinguistic phenomenon, for which I hope to write another page shortly.)

Move

I moved this from Regional dialect levelling because that title is ambiguous (regional dialects, or dialect levelling in a region?), and also a standard dialect may be affected by this phenomenon. John Stephenson 04:39, 6 August 2007 (CDT)
