Queen Elizabeth II (born 21st April 1926[1]) is the current monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. She ascended to the throne in 1952, and her predecessor was George VI, her father. She married Philip Mountbatten, now Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947. They have four children. Her son Charles is her future successor.
