This seems to be lifted directly from Wikipedia. In addition, it's pretty long, and very cluttered. I think that it's reasonable to prune it down very heavily to its essentials and then build it up from there. Graham Pressey

The Monarchy

As a Canadian, I've never heard of "Citizens for a Canadian Republic." What's more, the poll mentioned cries for a citation:

"Throughout history, although mild and nearly quiet, there has been calls by some Canadians, including the Citizens for a Canadian Republic, to abolish the monarchy and establish Canada as a republic. In fact, over 50% of Canadians in a recent poll want to have the monarchy abolished in Canada once Queen Elizabeth II dies."
