Gong Li[1] (simplified Chinese 巩俐; traditional Chinese 鞏俐; pinyin Gǒng Lì; born 31 December 1965) is an award-winning Chinese and naturalised Singaporean actress, having appeared in films such as Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), Curse of the Golden Flower (2006), Hannibal Rising (2007) and Shanghai (2009). Gong played Japanese characters in Memoirs of a Geisha and Hannibal Rising, and to date she has usually commented on her English-language roles in Mandarin.
