An amaryllis bulb induced to bloom in winter may produce multiple stalks of showy, lily-like blossoms.
This mature amaryllis bulb, after going dormant during deep winter, has responded to lengthening days by growing a bloom stalk in February, even before producing any foliage.
These Amaryllis bulbs have bloomed and are beginning to grow long leaves which will nurture and replenish the bulb's strength.
