The Tampa Bay Rays are a Major League Baseball team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The team was founded in 1998 as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as an expansion team in the American League. After 2007, the word Devil was dropped from the team name. [1] [2] [3]

The following uniform numbers are retired in that players, managers, and coaches of the team will no longer use them. For non-players, the person's role in the organization is also listed. [4] [5]
- 12 Wade Boggs
- 42 Jackie Robinson (retired across major league baseball)
- 66 Don Zimmer (senior baseball advisor)
