The Houston Astros are a Major League Baseball team based in Houston, Texas. The team was founded as the Houston Colt .45s in 1962 as an expansion team in the National League, and moved to the American League team in 2013. [1] [2]

Championships

The team has had one championship-winning season in the modern era (1901 and later) of major-league baseball, winning the World Series in 2017. They were also League champions, but lost in the World Series, 3 times: as National League champions in 2005 and as American League champions in 2019 and 2021. [3]
