Uppercases?

I've just inserted standard model in the disambiguation page about standard. And surprisingly, I've realized that in the present article, Standard Model has initial uppercases. Are these uppercases really necessary? Is it a proper noun?--Domergue Sumien 11:58, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for looking at this. It could use some substantial additions. The capitalization of Standard Model is pretty, well, standard. For example, Cottingham & Greenwood not only capitalize it, but shorthand it as in "formulation of the Model". (p. 3) John R. Brews 14:54, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

See also Ecole d'été de physique. However, it isn't universal, see Burgess & Moore. John R. Brews 15:07, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for these interesting references. I simply wanted to make sure that all redirection possibilities were working.--Domergue Sumien 15:12, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
