You are very, very welcome

Sounds like you have some very relevant background. I'm competent in COMSEC/INFOSEC, general SIGINT, and secure communications from the protocols and equipment side, but I know my limitations as a cryptologist. User: Sandy Harris is probably our leading expert on the crypto itself.

We have a cryptography article and a lot of subarticles, but the higher-level cryptology definitely needs improvement. A draft outline I suggested is on its talk page. Howard C. Berkowitz 18:27, 16 February 2009 (UTC) (Computers, Military, Engineering editor)

As usual, Howard is focusing on higher-level stuff & I'm wondering about more specific things. If you look at Talk:Cryptography#Quasi-outline, a major gap is that we lack articles on linear & differential cryptanalysis. Could you fill those in? Sandy Harris 00:29, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the warm welcome. Over the past 15 years, I have put together a couple of introductions to cryptology for general technical audiences, but since it was "work for others", I don't have the right to contribute that work here. A few things you might look at. The cryptography article seems to me to be close to approval status, but I'm not sure anyone other than Howard & I has been looking at it much; comments would be most welcome. Cryptanalysis is more problematic; it both contains and links to some good stuff, and there's more good stuff languishing on the talk page, but it is not complete, I don't think it is correctly organised yet, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Also, could you offer a third opinion on a debate Talk:Cipher#Asymmetric_stream_ciphers.3F where Howard and I utterly failed to reach a consensus? Sandy Harris 12:17, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
