Thu Dau Mot Town is the capital of Binh Duong Province which is in the Saigon area of Vietnam. It is north of Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City, which forms its southern border. To its west is Tay Ninh province, and Dong Nai Province is on the east.
National Highway 13 goes through the province. Key wartime locations along it were Lai Khe; it runs to An Loc in what was Binh Long Province, which is now part of Binh Phuoc Province
It is 30km from Ho Chi Minh City, 1,740km from Hanoi, 129km from Tay Ninh and 40km from Dong Nai.
