This article is intended to be the most basic on how the [[Internet]] email system works (as opposed to history, economics, applications of email, etc.) We will add lots of subtopics expanding on details such as message formats and transfer protocols. Topics such as email security will be made subtopics, because it is so much easier to discuss email security once you understand the basics. There's nothing wrong with the topic, but the title needs changing. "Overview" is not a topic but the function of the article, and we don't describe the functions of articles in the titles of articles. Also, titles are lower-cased except when they are names and in a few other cases. So something like [[email system]], or [[e-mail system]] (here are [http://stason.org/TULARC/languages/english-usage/211-How-do-you-spell-e-mail-Spelling-alt-usage-english.html some outdated data points]) might work...maybe [[email technical functioning]]...well, that's probably lame as well. --[[User:Larry Sanger|Larry Sanger]] 17:51, 12 November 2008 (UTC) | |||

There's nothing wrong with the topic, but the title needs changing. "Overview" is not a topic but the function of the article, and we don't describe the functions of articles in the titles of articles. Also, titles are lower-cased except when they are names and in a few other cases.
