Ligurian—more exactly Romance Ligurian—is a dialect of the Northern Italian language which is mainly spoken in Liguria (Italy), in several nearby zones and in the enclaves of Monaco, Bonifacio (Corsica), Carloforte and Calasetta (Sardinia). Romance Ligurian should not be confused with Ancient Ligurian, a wholly different language.
