Brown the steak in the shortening. Cover the meat with water and add the tomato sauce.

Carne gasada is a savory Mexican stew. It is tradionally served with tortillas and pinto beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 round steak, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 sm. can tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

Cooking directions

  • Brown the steak in the shortening.
