Brunswick County is in the southeastern Coastal Plain region of North Carolina, in the United States. As of 2004 it has an estimated population of 85,000. Southport is the county seat, and it is also home to the communities of Bolivia and Holden Beach. The county was named in honor of King George I of England, who also held the title of Duke of Brunswick and Lunenburg.
