Onslow County is in the southeastern Coastal Plain region of North Carolina and has an estimated population of 159,700 people (as of the year 2004). Jacksonville is the county seat, and it is also the home of Camp LeJeune Marine Base. The county was named in honor of Arthur Onslow, Speaker of the House of Commons in the British Parliament.
