Belize is a country located in Central America with Mexico bordering it to the north, Guatemala bordering it to the west and south, and the Caribbean Sea bordering it to the east. The capital city of Belize is Belmopan.
Constitutional status
Between 1973 and 1981, when Belize became independent, the British monarch was represented by the Governor of Belize. Since independence, Belize has been a dominion with the Governor-General of Belize representing the Crown.
