English: I am a 28 year-old sociologist from Montreal, Canada. I have studied sociology at UQÀM (Université du Québec à Montréal) for my 1st and 2nd cycle degrees. My Master's thesis studies nostalgia in contemporary culture (mainly tourism and marketing). I teach sociology in a College. I have many areas of interest: social movements, mass society, social imaginaries, ideologies, mass culture, counter-culture, individualism, sociology of art, social philosophy, globalization, etc. I try, as best as I can, to specialize in culture in contemporary capitalism. Finally, I believe that sociology can help build a world where human beings could be free, equal and responsible. I also believe that capitalism, as a system of political and economical domination, will eventually need to be removed in order to achieve this. I am also a fan of music, cinema and pleasure.

French: Je suis un sociologue montréalais de 28 ans. J'ai étudié la sociologie à l'UQÀM (Université du Québec à Montréal) pour mon baccalauréat et ma maîtrise. Mon mémoire de maîtrise porte sur la nostalgie dans la culture contemporaine (notamment le tourisme et le marketing). J'ai de nombreux champs d'intérêt: les mouvements sociaux, la société de masse, les imaginaires sociaux, les idéologies, la culture de masse, la contre-culture, l'individualisme, la sociologie de l'art (surtout le cinéma), la philosophie sociale, la globalisation, etc. J'essaie, autant que possible, de me spécialiser dans la place de la culture et du symbolique dans les sociétés capitalistes avancées. Enfin, je crois que la sociologie peut contribuer à bâtir un monde d'êtres libres, égaux et responsables. Je crois également que le capitalisme, comme système de domination politique et économique, devra éventuellement être remplacé à cette fin. J'aime aussi la musique, le cinéma et le plaisir.
