Many bodies of people and animals were discovered in the positions in which they died. The town dates back to the seventh century BC. The city was lost until in 1592 when it was re-discovered, but excavation didn't begin in earnest until the eighteenth century. Many bodies of people and animals were discovered in the positions in which they died. The town dates back to the seventh century BC.
