Cornwall (Cornish: Kernow) is a county in the southwestern peninsula of Great Britain, including the nearby Isles of Scilly. It is claimed by part of the population as one of the six Celtic nations albeit this status is not recognized by the United Kingdom. It has 513,528 inhabitants in an area of 3,563 km² (1,376 square miles). Its capital is Truro.
The autochthonous language is Cornish, which enjoys some legal protection, and the dominating, official language is English.
