Image title	ELLINGTON FIELD, TEXAS - A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook takes off to deliver food and water supplies to an airfield in Hawthorn, Texas. Aircraft activity increased dramatically at the airfield as relief efforts began supporting areas affected by Hurricane Rita. Active duty, Guard and Reserve components of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard and Homeland Security filled the parking ramp to deliver medical and logistics supplies and pickup pallets of Meals Ready to Eat and bottled water. Federal Emergency Management contracted tractor-trailer rigs lined up along the airfield to bring the food supplies being delivered by Army CH-47 Chinooks helicopters. Ellington field is the home of the 147th Fighter Wing, Houston Army Aviation Support Facility, 1-149th Aviation Battalion and the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Houston.
