My name is Domergue Sumien and I am a teacher in Occitan language. I have a Phd in linguistics (Occitan Studies, Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier) and a postgraduate certificate in history (Université de Provence, Aix-en-Provence).
I was born in 1968 and I live near Toulon and Aix-en-Provence (Provence).
My main research fields are:
- Linguistics
- Romance languages, especially Occitan and Catalan
- Sociolinguistics, especially language planning and language ideology
- Lexicography and lexicology
- History, especially the analysis of afrocentrism in Cheikh Anta Diop's works and their ideological issues concerning large scale history, large scale comparative linguistics and language planning.
