Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux kernel

Linus Benedict Torvalds, born on December 28th, 1969 to Nils and Anna Torvalds, is a Finnish computer software engineer is known for writing the initial versions of the open source Linux kernel, and is currently the project coordinator (known in Open source software circles as the "Benevolent Dictator for Life"[1]), maintaining stable releases.

Personal Life

Torvalds began studying at the University of Helsinki in 1988, where he majored in computer science. He and his wife Tove Monni Torvalds have three children, Patricia, Miranda and Daniela.
