Chichester is a city in the ceremonial county of West Sussex, United Kingdom. It has a population of 23,731.
Geography
The city is situated on the south coast, about 10 miles east of Portsmouth. It is connected to the sea via Chichester Harbour.
History
The city was known in Roman times as Regnum. Lots of remains of this period exist, such as an amphitheatre and a palace.
Transport
The A27 goes through the city.
