I graduated from high school in 1977 and from “four-year” college in 1983. In high school my emphasis was in science and in college my major was premed then biology. In college I took a few courses in English, such as grammar and composition. As an undergraduate I took more courses than most people to get my average back up. Finally, I graduated and was very disillusioned with college. I tried working and became even more disillusioned with that. Amazingly, my days have not been long enough to become a success. So, I’ll just have to rely on God. My last job was in 1987. I went on public assistance. I think that ran out because the county then put me on supplemental security income. I opposed “welfare reform” because that “reform” was really lowering welfare and turning it into workfare, which I have not had the time to participate in, which of course might be difficult for some people to believe. My education was in public high school and college except one year in a Christian college in the town the Scopes evolution trial took place. I sometimes feel like writing, and this site seems promising because it says common knowledge is alright to write about. I know thing which there is no way to get a reference for. As far as neutral articles is concerned, I do not know every point of view but have never pushed a point of view as far as I know. I read the neutrality article on Wikipedia long before anyone accused me of point of view pushing. The article said neutrality is the goal of the article which is why more than one author might be helpful. To expect any one author to know it all is unreasonable. There are plenty of things I don’t know. I don’t know how to find a lot of articles on one topic at a library, for example. I think I don’t know how most people pay their bills, because all I’ve heard is what “successful” people did. Honestly, most people were not at the top of the class. So, I know something about what biology majors go through, what people on welfare go through, and so forth. I’m not sure yet what I’ll want to write about.

What I don’t like about wikis:

Donating an article does not hurt me financially because of the low amount I would be paid freelance. In my opinion a professional writer would need to be on a salary independent of output.

Hi, I graduated from high school when I was 17, took too many classes my freshman year of college, and got my Bachelor’s degree in Biology when I was 24. For the most part, I got C’s and B’s.

When I entered the world of work, I found the work day too long and competitive so I went on public assistance, and I oppose workfare for the same reason.

What I don’t like about wikis:

  • other people are allowed to edit my articles
  • some have scorned me rather than helped me
  • the “donation requests” I find as offensive as the same in church, since they are addressed to me as well as to the wealthy
  • some wikis editors don’t consider me a reliable source of information, even though I am
  • most of the articles I could write have already been written
  • finished articles are not locked, and have too many edits
  • lists of authors include those who did not actually write the article.

I’ve found the most successful way to reduce the disruption of my articles, is to write them off line and then donate them. Donating an article does not hurt me financially because of the low amount I would be paid freelance. In my opinion a professional writer would need to be on a salary independent of output.
