I agree with the move, in fact I was thinking of doing something myself, but would rather have moved to Field (algebra), since there are at least two other uses of the term in mathematics: σ-field and vector field.  I do however think there is scope for an article on [[Field theory]] which gives an overview of the subject, rather than going into details of fields as such.  [[User:Richard Pinch|Richard Pinch]] 10:33, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Comments on the move

I agree with the move, in fact I was thinking of doing something myself, but would rather have moved to Field (algebra), since there are at least two other uses of the term in mathematics: σ-field and vector field. I do however think there is scope for an article on Field theory which gives an overview of the subject, rather than going into details of fields as such. Richard Pinch 10:33, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
