In biochemistry, methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase is a "flavoprotein amine oxidoreductase that catalyzes the reversible conversion of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate to 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate."[1]

Deficient activity of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase is associated with elevated levels of homocysteine and coronary heart disease.[2]
