Hello Karin, | |||
I am giving you this personal invitation to join us this week for Biology Week!
You're a ''Citizendium'' Biology Author and we need authors as much as editors here to get involved. Did you know that there are over ''200'' biology authors here? Yep!
Please join us on the wiki and add or revise biology articles. Also, please let your friends and colleagues who are biologists, biology students, or naturalists, know about Biology Week and ask them to join us, too. Any way you can help make it an event would be most welcome. Think of it as a [[CZ:Biology Workgroup|Biology Workgroup]] open house. Let's see if we can kick up activity a notch!

Some ideas for contributions
Hej Karin, welcome aboard CZ. Roger has already given you some hints as to how things work here in general, and I wish to add some more practical hints on what possibilities you have to contribute. For a start, I just took some of the keywords from the information you supplied upon registration, and display below the current state of the related CZ articles (for documentation, see Template:Rpl/Doc):
- Research: Add brief definition or description
- Stem cells: Describes cells that have the potential to differentiate to new cell types; usually encompasses totipotent, pluripotent and multipotent cells. [e]
- Brain: The core unit of a central nervous system. [e]
- Master: Add brief definition or description
- Molecular cell biology: Add brief definition or description
- Focus: Add brief definition or description
- Nervous system: The control unit of bodily functions in animals. [e]
- Medicine: The study of health and disease of the human body. [e]
- Pharmacology: Study of the changes produced in living animals by chemical substances, especially the actions of therapeutics, substances used to treat disease. [e]
- Neuropsychology: Add brief definition or description
- Psychology: The study of systemic properties of the brain and their relation to behaviour. [e]
- Endometriosis: A persisting (chronic) non-cancerous disease, sometimes with an hereditary component, affecting up to 10% of women of reproductive age, causes pain in the pelvis during the menstrual period and during sexual intercourse due to inflammatory swelling and bleeding of tissue resembling that lining the uterus (endometrial tissue) abnormally implanted and growing as nodules in various areas of the pelvis and in the ovaries, often accompanied by infertility. [e]
- Non-profit organization: An organization whose primary goals do not include making profit; details differ between jurisdictions. [e]
- Sweden: Constitutional monarchy (population c. 9 million; capital Stockholm) situated on the Scandinavian Peninsula, between Norway and Finland; has a long eastern coastline on the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia. [e]
