As for the WP notice, I've recently discovered that for *some* things to take effect, an actual edit has to be done to the article itself before it takes effect. In this case, I stuck an "x" in the article, saved it, reopened the article, removed the "x" and saved it again. But by now the WP notice was there. At least on *my* screen.
