I would say it was overlooked by the rest of the scientific community, not particularly a snub but a lack of interest. This should not be a surprise as it happened recently with gene silencing too. The appreciation of her work in the 70's was due to the fact her work was now more generally applicable rather than a plant oddity. It is easy to paint this a snub of her work but it is not that simple. | |||
