CZ:Workgroups

Workgroups are no longer used for group communications, but they still are used to group articles into fields of interest. Each article is assigned to 1-3 Workgroups via the article's Metadata.

A workgroup is a collection of articles grouped into a general area. This page provides multiple ways to explore Workgroup classifications.

In the early days of the project, Citizendium contributors voluntarily added their name to one or more workgroups (see below). It's still good to do that, as it helps contributors with similar interests find you. To add yourself to an author workgroup, add [[Category:Education Authors|Smith, Bob]] to your userpage, substituting "Education" with whatever workgroup you wish to add yourself to.

We still follow the practice of adding new articles to specific workgroups. To add a workgroup category tag to an article, add the workgroup name to the metadata page of the article. Note that (on Metadata pages) you DO NOT use the word "Workgroup", i.e. just "Astronomy" not "Astronomy Workgroup".

More specific topics are covered by subgroups. Any Author or Editor can create a new subgroup. See here for a complete list.
