Hi, Javier, greetings from a Londoner in Esposende, Portugal. Could you fix your template or whatever it is so that 'Spanish' comes out capitalised, please? I've altered a few of them... Muchas gracias! [[User:Ro Thorpe|Ro Thorpe]] 22:49, 26 July 2009 (UTC) |

Welcome!
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Hayford Peirce 14:50, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Welcome!
Glad to have you here...perhaps a bit of Spanish cuisine as well? :-)
I'm a Military Workgroup editor, more involved in recent events, but I'd be glad to work with you on Spanish military history. There's a bit in the Gulf War articles, which I want to expand; we also need something on the Madrid bombings.
As a Computers Editor, I always like to point out that the first commercial packet switching network was not in the US, but between Madrid and Barcelona. At least on this side of the Atlantic, there tends to be a lack of knowledge about current Spanish technology. Howard C. Berkowitz 15:51, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello Javier,
thanks for getting things started at Spanish topics here. I have no particular expertise in there but started Almendralejo/Related Articles to give you an idea how the CZ:Related Articles subpages for such entries could look like. Their main purpose is to help with navigating at CZ, and in order to help people find the articles, it is important to set up these pages properly, and to also link them from the related articles subpages of relevant articles (in this case perhaps Extremadura, Province of Badajoz (Spain) and Romanticism). --Daniel Mietchen 14:21, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Please also take a look at the role of metadata in our subpages system. I have filled it in for an example of your recently started articles. --Daniel Mietchen 14:27, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for bothering you again but another one of the differences between CZ and WP is the use of categories, which I have just summed up at CZ:Categories. To organize lists of writers, something like Orchidaceae/Related_Articles/Masterlist, as implemented, e.g., at Orchid/Related Articles, may be the way to go (perhaps best on Catalog subpages, as pointed by Peter out below). Also, please take another look at how to fill in the metadata. Thanks! --Daniel Mietchen 12:37, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Javier. What you want have -- lists of cities, authors, etc. -- is not done using categories, but by compiling /Catalogs subpages. So -- instead of "Category:Spanish writers" -- this could be "Spanish literature/Catalogs/Spanish authors" (or something like that). Peter Schmitt 12:38, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Javier, greetings from a Londoner in Esposende, Portugal. Could you fix your template or whatever it is so that 'Spanish' comes out capitalised, please? I've altered a few of them... Muchas gracias! Ro Thorpe 22:49, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
