The Surrey Guardian was a small fireboat operated on the Fraser River by the Surrey Fire Department in British Columbia from 1968 to 1972.[1][2][3][4] Surrey is part of metropolitan Vancouver and lies between the Fraser River and the U.S. border.
The vessel was not new, as it had been launched as the Port Fraser in 1963.[5] She was operated by the New Westminster Harbour Commission.
Surrey council discussed and rejected the idea of selling the vessel, in June of 1970.[6]
