Welcome to Citizendium, and a request

Hi Gregory,

Welcome! We hope you enjoy yourself here and that you'll soon make yourself feel at home. We've been short of Visual Art Editors for a long time -- some of us have been trying to get one to look at the Waldo Peirce article with a view to getting the Approval process started for a long time now with no success. As User:Joe Quick wrote recently on the Talk page of another newly joined Editor:

We use the words "author" and "editor" a little differently at Citizendium [from Wikipedia]. An "author" is anyone who contributes to an article and anyone may act as an "author" for any article. "Editor" means a subject area expert who guides the development and eventual "approval" of articles. "Approval" here means that an "editor" has reviewed the article for content and accuracy and has signed off on it based on the approval standards I mentioned above [ Waldo Peirce ].

I noticed that you've been confirmed as a visual arts "editor" and was hoping that you could oversee the approval process for the Waldo Peirce article. The process works somewhat like peer-review. You don't need to know the work of this particular artist in order to oversee approval, but we do need someone who is experienced with the visual arts field as a whole who can judge the overall quality of the article in terms of what should be present in an article about an artist and how material should be presented. I don't mean to pressure you, but I think you'd be a good person to fill that role. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you through the process
