That's an absolutely delightful introduction!
Let me introduce myself. Many know me as a general nuisance; formally, I'm an Editor in the Military, Engineering and Computers Workgroups; Secretary of the Editorial Council; and person with strange knowledge in many things.
Even if it's light, I'm very pleased that you have an interest in law. There are a number of articles, such as [[international law]], [[extraordinary rendition]], [[extrajudicial detention]] and [[interrogation]] where I rather eagerly want other than American perspectives.
I do have a professional interest in [[commercial fishing]] and [[fisheries monitoring surveillance and control]]. A subset of the latter is [[vessel monitoring system]]s, where Iceland has implemented theirs in a rather creative way. If you have any sea or fisheries interest, we may have things in common. Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Hayford Peirce 14:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

There are a number of articles, such as international law, extraordinary rendition, extrajudicial detention and interrogation where I rather eagerly want other than American perspectives.

I do have a professional interest in commercial fishing and fisheries monitoring surveillance and control. A subset of the latter is vessel monitoring systems, where Iceland has implemented theirs in a rather creative way. If you have any sea or fisheries interest, we may have things in common. Howard C.
