Hi Youmun, I like the [[Online document services]] article; it has very helpful graphics. Would you please check that all the graphics are legal? Some that I looked at fail to indicate who created the graphic and whether CZ has permission to display it. CZ constables are quite strict that we need written permission to use anyone else's photograghs or graphics unless they are previously published on the web with a permissive license. It might be necessary to substitute ones that we, or hopefully you, have created yourselves.[[User:Pat Palmer|Pat Palmer]] 09:31, 30 August 2008 (CDT) |

Welcome!
Our group topic will be Online Document Services.
Here is the overview written by RoopKumar Kalimuthu, one of our team members.
Technology is analogous to a coin, it has two faces to it. Every little technology has a major story to tell us about its advantages and disadvantages. Especially in this era of innovation, witnessing advancements in technology have become as common as witnessing the sun rise everyday morning. What was popular yesterday is obsolete today and what is popular today will be obsolete tomorrow. We are here to discuss one such major advancement in technology - Online Document Service.
Online document service enables users to create, store and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online. This enables users to access their documents anytime and anywhere without having to download any piece of software on their local hardware. Though the features provided by these online document services are not as rich as the currently available software solutions, which are to be installed on the users local hardware, we are not far from experiencing a major change over.
Will these online document services completely replace the need of software solutions? What are the major con's the online document service providers need to address?
We are hoping to answer the above questions in our Citizendium article.
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! D. Matt Innis 15:02, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

Online document services graphics
Hi Youmun, I like the Online document services article; it has very helpful graphics. Would you please check that all the graphics are legal? Some that I looked at fail to indicate who created the graphic and whether CZ has permission to display it. CZ constables are quite strict that we need written permission to use anyone else's photograghs or graphics unless they are previously published on the web with a permissive license.
