The University of Alaska Fairbanks is a publicly-supported land-grant research university with its main campus located in Fairbanks, Alaska. It is the flagship institution of the University of Alaska System, and also operates a number of satellite campuses in rural locations throughout the state. Fall 2006 enrollment at the Fairbanks campus was 5,427; for the university as a whole, 9,681.[1]
