The Nationals are a centre-right political party in Australia.
Formed as the Australian Country Party on January 22 1920, The Nationals are the second oldest political party in Australia. The Nationals are still most popular with regional and rural Australians.
As of 2007, The Nationals have formed part of a coalition government with the Liberal Party at a federal level since 1996. The federal leader of The Nationals is Mark Vaile MP.
