Would it possible to "trim" the names on this list, autmatically, so that [[User:David E. Volk]] could be listed as [[User:David E. Volk|David E. Volk]]?  Just a little program to double the name separated with a pipe and then trim out the User: at the second occurance? <small>...said</small> [[User:David E. Volk|David E. : Short answer: "no". Slightly longer answer: "not easily; it would take a MediaWiki change". The list of constituent pages in a category is generated by MediaWiki code, and we have no control over it.

What's with the userlist in special pages? It lists a bunch of accounts that aren't names. Why do they exist? -- Melanie St Clair 10:51, 22 December 2006 (CST)

It should be anonymous that created accounts. --Versuri 11:23, 22 December 2006 (CST)
A few of those accounts are test accounts made by Larry Sanger or the tech guys in the early days of the wiki that they were scared to delete for fear of making pages explode (which happened once). The rest are likely people who didn't read the directions and then had to remake their accounts the right way. As far as I know, none of those accounts that aren't names have write-access on the wiki, since the personnel people only give access to proper names. We just haven't cleared off those improper names because deleting accounts is time-consuming and possibly dangerous. --ZachPruckowski 14:19, 23 December 2006 (CST)

CZ Authors First Page

Could the first page to access Authors please be an outline that will take you to a specific letter? The list has grown a lot since I started looking at the list. Robert Winmill 08:26, 23 April 2007 (CDT)

I just registered as an author and thought exactly the same thing as Robert. I'm amazed that no-one else has taken action on this yet! If I am on Robert's wavelength it would be something like this:
