Description	English: Photograph of the first oil district in Los Angeles, Toluca Street, ca.1895-1901. The oil field is closely packed with about 20 derricks which reflect in the standing water or oil on the ground in the foreground. Each derrick has a small building at its base. Oil pipes traverse the general area.
