• October 13 - King Philip IV of France orders Grandmaster Jaques de Mornay and all member of the order of the Knights Templar arrested.
• November 22 - Pope Clement issues the Pastoralis Praeeminentiae, instructing all Christian monarchs in Europe to arrest all Templars and seize their assets.
